The New Mexico Veterans Memorial, Update July 23, 2010

The dedication of the statue at the Veterans Memorial Park was a deeply meaningful event for all of us in attendance and the press did a wonderful job covering the event.  As many of you are aware, the statue was vandalized a few weeks after the unveiling.  While a deeply tragic event, the town and community pulled together and did an amazing job of providing support.  The reparied statue is back in place and the rededication took place at the park on July 12th with the mayor's office particpating and showing support.  I am very proud to be part of this community that showed us tremendous support.
